Dr. Shanna Holcomb holds a special place in the Greene County community, having been born and raised in the very house her father grew up in, just a stone's throw away from Yesterday Café. Alongside her husband Randy, a fellow Greene County native, Dr. Holcomb embodies local commitment and pride. Their shared journey began in high school, with both graduating from the high school in downtown Greensboro, and they now call Lake Sinclair home!
Dr. Holcomb's academic path took her through Georgia College and Mercer University, culminating in her residency at the University of South Carolina. Returning to Milledgeville in 2010, she practiced as an OBGYN until 2014, when she devoted her focus solely to gynecology. "Since 2014, I have narrowed my focus to gynecology, specifically women's health during perimenopause and menopause, sexual health, and vaginal/vulvar disorders. I am a NAMS-certified menopause practitioner with specialized training from ISSWSH, ensuring I remain at the forefront of evidence-based care," Dr. Holcomb explains.

"Breaking away from 'corporate medicine' allows me to prioritize patient care over profit margins," says Dr. Holcomb. That's why I chose a direct patient care plan," she shares. The DPC membership offers unlimited visits, certain lab work, bone density scans, vulvoscopies, colposcopies if needed, and biopsies for a monthly fee comparable to a gym membership. Alternatively, patients can opt for a pay-per-visit plan. Dr. Holcomb also assists patients with the necessary paperwork for independently submitting insurance claims, and DPC memberships are available for businesses to purchase for their employees.

One day, when Veleanar Horton was attending a church service, she had a sudden epiphany. After years of working in in financial services, international banking, and computer troubleshooting, it was time to change careers and work in a field that helped other people feel better.
She decided to go to school to become a licensed Massage therapist, which she did, graduating from the Atlanta School of Massage in 2013. She is now a member of the American Massage Therapy Association—the largest non-profit professional association for massage schools, students, and therapists.
In January 2020, Vel opened Therapeutic Massage and Wellness Spa in Greensboro. Trained in a variety of massage modalities, she can assist her clients with techniques such as Myofascial Release, Orthopedic Massage, Full Body Lymphatic Drainage, and Reflexology.
