Georgia College & State University welcomes guest artists for an evening of ‘Songs of Sunshine, Love, Conflict, and Death,” at 7:30 p.m. in Max Noah Recital Hall, featuring members of the 1716 Collective of the University of North Georgia: Yue Yin, coloratura soprano; Benjamin Schoening, lyric baritone; and David Peoples, piano, percussion, and composer.
The concert will include music for soprano or baritone and piano with literature from notable 19th century poets and writers ranging from Edgar Allen Poe, Christina Rosetti, Emily Dickenson, and many more. All compositions on the program are by Georgia-based composer David R. Peoples, with 2 World Premiers on the program.

The R&B Paint and Sip Experience offers a night of creativity, soulful music, and great vibes.
Each ticket includes a complimentary drink to kick off the evening, one-month access to an exclusive Apple Music playlist featuring the night’s R&B hits, and the choice of a canvas design. Founded in 1842, the Central State Hospital Campus has been one of Milledgeville’s most well known and complex sites. The institution gained national recognition during the 1960s as the United States’ largest mental institution with over 12,000 patients, 6,000 employees, and more than 8,000 acres of land. Today, Central State Hospital serves over 200 existing patients and has downsized to roughly 2,000 acres of land.
Led by a former hospital employee, the two hour campus tour provides a transparent overview of the institution’s multifaceted heritage, current treatment of clients and the ongoing redevelopment of the property. Tour stops include Cedar Lane Cemetery as well as the Chapel of All Faiths, as the property is available.
Central State Hospital Trolley Tours are hosted on select
Saturdays at 11:30 am, depart from the Milledgeville Visitor Information Center and are offered rain or shine.

Please note, the trolley is ADA compliant but moderate mobility is recommended for those who wish to disembark at Cedar Lane Cemetery and the Chapel of All Faiths.
Hop aboard the town’s most iconic resident, “Milly the Trolley,” for a fully narrated tour of Milledgeville’s historic district!
Featuring grand architecture, beautiful squares, and historic neighborhoods, the sixty-minute tour provides an overview of Milledgeville’s history during its sixty-eight-year period as the capital city of Georgia. During the tour, guests will cruise the historic district via trolley and be escorted on a guided walk through the former statehouse square and St. Stephens Episcopal Church, consecrated in 1843.
Trolley tours are hosted on Friday and Saturday at 10 a.m., depart from the Milledgeville Visitor Information Center, and are offered rain or shine.

The annual Le Pied Du Mont Boucherie Festival is a two-day educational event, designed to bring the community together to witness the craft of our butchers, farmers, and chefs who work together throughout the growing season to prepare seasonal and delicious meals from local, sustainable and organic sources. (This event is held on a working farm, ot an events only farm. )
This festival serves as a fundraiser and educational gathering of Butchers, Chefs, Farmers and Veterans coming together to celebrate the start of our growing season. Most importantly, they aim to support the STAG VETS INC Agro-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy program to help combat veterans transition effectively into civilian life on our facility Comfort Farms, the nation’s first Veterans Acute Crisis Agriculture Center.
